It's official: Ike returns to Smash. Looks like they went with the Radiant Dawn design (or kept it. Can't remember what he looked like in Brawl). I'm kinda surprised Chrom hasn't shown up yet. How many sword guys with blue hair will there be in Smash Bros?
Maybe they'll have all three. I mean, why wouldn't they feature Awakening with how well it was doing? It took till Brawl for them to include more Kirby characters and it was the company that develops Kirby games. Granted, they didn't want to show favoritism but it makes sense.
Maybe Marth be the graceful swordsman, Ike as the powerhouse, and have Chrom as the middle ground.
Or they can troll us all by having the Tactician, hidden under his/her hood, be the next character included.

Hey, why not both? Chrom and Tactician team up, similar to the ice climbers. It'd be a nice tribute to one of the game mechanics in Awakening. Or maybe like the pokemon trainer: tactician is in the background commanding three Awakening characters.
I think that Chrom should've been in the game rather than Ike, and that we should've gotten an ACTUAL Fire Emblem Stage, instead of a generic one for the Wii U. The 3DS gets Arena Ferox, but the Wii U? Coliseum.
Okay...so if Palutena is now a fighter, I think we can still hold out hope for an Awakening Character. I mean, if a series that only had 3 games in the series gets two characters, I think Fire Emblem should have a pretty good chance of having a third.

Sakurai actually developed Kid Icarus Uprising, so I suspect there is some favoritism involved. Here's hoping though.

If not, well, there's always the Mii fighter
If they aren't in it, hopefully they have a good amount of customization for the Mii fighters.
I like both Marth and Ike. Roy and Marth were always my favourites because I'm best with them. I suck with Ike because he's slow but I'd be super disappointed if he weren't in this game. I like that they kept them both. Frankly, I don't mind if there are no Awakening characters. An Awakening stage would be pretty cool, though.
Well, if you haven't played Awakening, you just got spoiled. But it's an official announcement for a highly anticipated game, so a spoiler alert would be useless.
Oh man, I hope Lucina isn't a Marth clone (LOL!)
Also, it's good to see a new FE character who isn't just a swordsman.
Is Chrom just in Robin's final smash? Hmm...I don't know. I think I'd prefer a Chrom/Lucina thing like Male/Female Robin. Lucina may not fight like Chrom in the game proper, but the have very similar fighting style when they fight against each other in the cutscene.
