Welcome to my helpdesk! Any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the FE:Insurrection RP, as well as any other issues that you think I might be able to help out with, should be directed here.

A few questions:

1. I'm a little confused about the timeline. Does the RP start at Day 0 or "plus 6 months"?

2. Is this RP going to be reset once we move to the real forum?

The RP starts at "plus 6 months" in the Event Chronology. Sorry, I admit that's a little confusing. I wanted to stay away from committing to any sort of calendar, there just wasn't any clean way to do it.

I can see that coming up a lot, so I'm going to edit that thread so it reads a little better.


To answer your second question, no. I intend to port everything over.

We'll start with one for now. As the RP evolves and folks get one or two RPs under their belts, we will consider expanding the limit. Things are still very touchy-feely right now.

Ok...so this might be misdirected...but I think some kind of prompt is in order to alert people submitting profiles that it's not going to show up immediately and stuff to that effect. I was a bit surprised when it went straight back to the forum screen without any transitional message.

About the porting: It's set up to go smooth as silk once the new forums are up.
No manual hand-copying of hundreds of posts or anything.

About the profile subs: Yeah, I think I'll post up a sticky or something to that effect. It goes into a queue to be approved manually. Mods/admins see it as a red post on the board, users can't see it.

I've been a bit busy/trying to sleep since this got put up, but it's time to start jumping in to this after the wait.

I'll need to take some time to refresh my mind on Elibe. It's been a bit, as well as what's changed from the time that has past. That's on my end though. As to me posting in this thread, my question: I see that Class isn't a section on the profile, despite, I presume, an implicent relience on the classes. Is something Lordish off limits? I figured even if I could I'd need to ask about it and works things out.

I'm glad you asked this. Class has intentionally been left off the profile template as a requirement. This is because the most recent Fire Emblem games have introduced reclassing, making commitment to one style largely obsolete. Of course, most characters should have a weapon or style that they prefer. (None of that Olcadan business - mastering all weapons and magic is rather god-moddy.)

Additionally, with the release of FE: Awakening, players were able to control a tactician that could use swords AND magic. This ties in perfectly with the plot of Insurrection - magic is banned in Lycia and Etruria, so mages either have to deal with the stigma/get sneaky, or take up a conventional weapon to compensate.

This brings me to your specific question regarding the Lord-type classes. If you're asking to be a marquess of Lycia or the king of Bern, then obviously the answer is no. However, if you wish to play a character of lesser/former nobility, then I would approve that depending on how you present that character in your profile.

My character Shad is essentially both things mentioned above. His primary weapon is a rapier, but he also has some knowledge of anima spells, which he never really used much and is currently keeping that under raps during this occupation of Etruria. He is also a lesser member of nobility in Etruria who had very recently come into his post just before the formation of the Lycian Empire.

2) Will all the event take place in Lycia only?

I think you already plan to explain more, but this is just for character creation. Short answer will do, thanks!

1) Your character can be from anywhere in Elibe, but there has to be a reason that your character has ended up within the confines of our current world map.

2) Nope. Right now our truncated World Map allows for RPs taking place in Lycia and western Bern. We'll eventually expand that, but that's a ways off.

Grading sort of implies levels/weapons as rewards, and we're staying away from that. Review is for keeping track of the story.

The adventures I have in mind for Paige focus on her finding information on the origins of the emperor, how Lycia transformed so suddenly, and if anything could be done to restore her former glory. Since nothing about the former two is listed, am I correct in assuming that none of this is common knowledge?

So I'm scheming creating an RP where the refugees (mostly Etrurian) in Bern tried to invade Lycia for some reason. It didn't go as smooth as they thought and got wiped out after some time before they decided to retreat back into Bern territory. One team of our PC chars will support the survivors to return to the refugee camp safely, while the other two will be on Lycian side pursuing the attackers. That should be an end to battle scene, and probably some social before it ends.

Do you find this reasonable? Is there any suggestion to make this more interesting?

Many of the circumstances surrounding the Emperor are indeed mysterious, so I would say that that much isn't common knowledge. However, the widely accepted explanation for Lycia's transformation is the result of suspicion and paranoia about the two most formidable neighboring nations. The scholars have deduced this much.

If that’s what you want to do, then by all means, go for it. Just be aware of a couple of things:

1) There are no dragons on Elibe, save for Arcadia, which is not part of our World Map. So a dragon fight would be a no-no.
2) Keep in mind that if your plan is to launch an attack from Bern, and ultimately retreat back into Bern, it could have catastrophic repercussions. Namely, it would give Lycia a reason to declare war on Bern. And this is something the king DEFINITELY wants to avoid. I’m not going to say no, but I do recommend that you carefully weigh all of the possible outcomes. If they lose Bern as a safe haven, Etrurians are screwed.

Thank you for the warning, I really didn't see that. We may probably change place of the camp to somewhere else (Etruria maybe?) .

However, just out of wonder, so what will happen if we actually go for it that way? Are you going to update the event thread? or are you going to run the world RP about Lycia's counterattack?
