One of the most iconic and polarizing figures in modern gaming history has recently passed away this week.
Never had a video game company had a man at the helm who was as heartwarming and humble as this man was. And to be honest, Nintendo probably may not be the same without him. It is a sad day for gamers across the world, and to Iwata's friends and family.
Thanks for everything, man. I hope you have as much fun in a better place. I can't wait to see what amazing games you may be programming when I see you next time.
Rest in peace, Satoru Iwata. Wii would like to see you again someday. Eventually.
"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." - Satoru Iwata, 2005.
Edit: And then I noticed I got ninja'd by someone else, in an entirely different forum.
