this is a little something that i got from other forums but i've found it pretty useful, it's a notification system for when you are quoted, and along with that, a way to tag people to trigger this.
an example, say we were arguing about bagels, and iwanted to ask cyrocil his opinion on wether he'd like some, rather than PMing him i could write @cyrocil; (or whichever way you want to make it work) and he'd get a notification linking him to that post
on a more serious example, it's useful for bringing someone's attention to a thread, it could be someone who knows a lot about the subject or what-have you. or if you're discussing something in semi-real time, it's great for knowing when you get a reply while you browse the rest of the forum.
