"I'll be fine," Renata answered. I should be the one asking him that. Failing to find any keys on an investigation of the priest's corpse, she stowed his tome. She probably wouldn't be able to use it, but it felt just not to let a preacher of the false church die clinging to undefiled verse.
"Hear that, boys?" Another voice shouted from the ranks of the rebels. "Someone's got a death wish!" They rallied and charged in the direction of the booming voice.
"Oy, girl!" A third shout, this time from the cells. "What are you waiting for? Just pick it!" The prisoner was pointing to the lock around the bars.
"We don't have picks." Renata sighed. Even thieves mistook her for a thief, apparently. She sprang up from where she'd knelt, wincing as the world dimmed a bit. Perhaps she'd underestimated the magic. No matter. "They'll be alright," she said of the fighters, mostly to reassure herself. Tiras already knew how absolute their advantage was; now the important thing was to finish their takeover of the prison in a timely manner. "Wherever they keep the keys, we've got to find them! Come on!"
