Shad was a little rattled by Satsume's outburst. Yeah, they have a mission to do, but what was a couple of minutes anyway? Something seemed off. Shad, Paige, and Kalin took separate paths to Pharae, but Shad never found out where Satsume, Orica, and Neil went off too after fighting Glass. With the way Neil was acting, he probably went off on his own, but did Satsume and Orica travel together? It was possible, but Shad had no proof to it. Considering his behavior though...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shad sat rather quietly in the wagon. There was a bit of friction between him and Cecily, which made it awkward and sometimes a little uncomfortable to talk with her. Toss in the lingering thoughts about Orica and the whole Black Fang association with Lita, any interactions with her or Lita probably wouldn't help mend any bridges right now. He spent the time cracking his knuckles and other joints. It would've been annoying to hear, but over the sounds of the wagon, it probably wasn't noticed. He turned to look at Cecily, who was talking to Satsume about...something. He wasn't paying attention. Only a few minutes later, when she called over Orica, was Shad's attention grabbed. Orica even flagged him over to listen in.
Upon hearing Orica's story, he knew where she was coming from. She was a dark mirror of his own life. One where he was forced to seize what was his by himself. He was fortunate that men loyal to his father and those repelled enough by Faustus were at his side when the time came. Then he realized, Cecily's life was yet another life that was possible to him. One with a stable family structure and a consistent education. It was something to think about, anyway.
Shad considered speaking up, but now wasn't the time. Though Cecily seemed rather cold to her reveal, when she called Orica over, it had a sense of familiarity in it. The Lycian lords tried to be close-knit unit, at least, that was what Wolfram had told him, in regards to the early lives of Lord Hector and Lord Eliwood. They must have known each other far longer than anyone here knew anyone else. So he'll indulge her and let her catch up.
