Unlike pretty much everyone else in this ragtag troop, Priam was not exactly one for high-handed ideals, or even ideals at all, really. Whether it was Lycia or Etruria, weren't they just bullshitting some cheap excuse to pillage, maim and kill and say "no, really, I'm the good guy?" At least he didn't lie to himself and think he was the "hero." As far as he was concerned (and his opinion mattered the most to himself) that made him better than all these hypocrites, at least.
