While Cecily and the others were getting to know each other, Paige had already snuck off to her room. The journey to Faren’s mansion took quite a toll: she had never gotten over her fear of heights. Hanging onto the wyvern captain Alan for the entire trip likely gave him the wrong impression. That was quickly cleared up upon landing, when Paige vomited all over the wyvern. Needless to say, the librarian opted to stay in her room and rest.
Paige sat on her bed and examined the intricate runes of her light brand. The sword rested in both her hands as she read over the text. As soon as the sword showed signs of glowing, Paige dropped the sword on the floor with a loud clank. She laid back on her bed in frustration.
“I’m a scholar, not a warrior,” Paige thought to herself. “Surely this wasn’t the life I was meant to lead…”
