It was as she predicted, though Cecily felt no need to voice her thought. She began her galdr without thinking twice. The tune was simple to help prevent herself from stumbling over the notes, but it probably sounded unfamiliar to those who took the moment to listen. As the battle was waged, Cecily followed behind Satsume within a reasonable distance to maintain the effects of her magic.
She had no moment to spare for distractions like the armored brute who burst onto the scene with the suspicious woman perched upon him. Nor distractions like the brigand who thought to aim his next swing in her direction. The thought made her stutter on her next note as she took steps in the opposite direction and fought the urge to break in terror until Satsume batted the attack away in the nick of time.
However, the ensuing struggle found its way to the ground. Her voice faded as Cecily came to the conclusion that she had to intervene. Having seen where Satsume's lance dropped, she gripped the weapon in both hands and half-walked, half-ran towards the two.
The weapon felt lighter in her hands than she thought, but it still had weight to it. Cecily never carried, let alone use, a polearm in her life. Considering the life or death consequences, she didn't put too much thought in how she was going to attack the vagrant. She just pointed the tip at the man and ran at him. Screaming, of course.
