It was fortunate that Paige had her weapons with her. With the town atmosphere so unsettling, she had kept her rapier and light brand on her person. When two men approached to apprehend her and Cecily, the librarian was seated, her hand brandishing the rapier from under the table. When she stood up, Paige immediately slashed at one of the henchmen. The gash across his test was enough to get him to back off as Paige went over to Satsume's side.

Though Satsume wanted them behind him, he didn't seem to be in any position to protect him. Paige felt like she had to step up and cover him. She stood beside Satsume, sword at the ready.

"You won't be carrying us off that easily," Paige declared, sounding as tough as a proper lady could sound. This was of course just as two other men were carrying off Maisie and Taika into the common room.

"Well, you won't get all of us so easily!"
