Things were starting to look up for Paige and co. Cass had reappeared and opened the door. Ellie had joined their ranks. They even managed to convert Yuri to their side, their weapons in tow. As Paige took up her rapier, she noticed that the monk armed himself with a rather ornate sword. When he grabbed the hilt, runes appeared along the blade. The librarian recognized the symbols; they were the same as those that appeared in tomes. She said nothing of it, however. They had bigger concerns.
"Lead the way," Paige said to Yuri. Despite having new allies, Paige didn't think they stood much of a chance against the entire unit in a straight fight. She decided to follow Yuri and hoped the others would comply. It wasn't as if there were many other options: soldiers would be inside at any moment.

When (and if) the group made it to the back of the prison, they would find a stable directly across from them. They'd also find a unit of six soldiers waiting for them, having anticipated an escape through the back. Three were armed with spears, two had crossbows, and the last was carrying one of the new tomes of light magic, as ordained by the new church.
