She didn't want to admit it, but the sound of battle was rattling her senses. The Lausian noble is not accustomed to battle, nor was she interested in partaking in any such barbaric acts, and there was no way to hide it.
Cecily pulled the sheets close to her, as though it would shield her from the arrows and blades that the assassins wielded. At the very least, it shielded her from the blast of light made by the mage's lightning. She initially thought that the mage threw some kind of explosive until she smelled the magic's after effects. It didn't seem safe, but the noble had no reason to complain right now.
But even with Satsume's and Ray's help, one slipped through their guard, approaching from the window while the two were distracted at the door. Cecily could only manage a scream as she caught sight of his approach and threw herself (or fell? Being in a rather poor physical state) off of the side of the bed in an effort to flee from the hungry dagger as the assassin lunged at her.
