Closed Weekly Splice Competition (Reboot) R2 Voting

Weekly Splice REBOOT R2 Ported from the old forums, since this one is seeing more action~

Quote:Rules
-You must use least 1 piece of every mug.
--You may not use pieces from other mugs that aren't in the set.
-No mass customizing. You may do small customizing to make it look good/work. (ex: Shadings)
-You may use any color palette you want (this is the part when you can use other mugs...for their colors).
--But use common sense... don't use something like 50 colors xD (usually 15-16 max)
-One entry per person. You may change your entry tho.

-The winner will be determined by voting.
-YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF! (even I don't think that anybody here is that low)
-Winner of each round chooses the next set.
But no jerking around like choosing mugs whose body and head sizes and angles are completely different.
(ex: Ismaire, Fae and Gheb)

I kinda rushed with voting but... Ghost. His/her/it's entry seemed to be the cleanest.

Going Pura here. While I like all the entries, Pura's is definitely the cleanest without taking the easy way out - if Ghost hadn't decided on using only the outline colour on that much of the torso, I would be voting Ghost. But for that much body, there is no excuse to be putting that much of a shadow on something so faintly covered by the cape. All around good pieces though! Can't wait to get back into the swing of things and really start competing!

Voting for Zanryu. I like the clothing on Pura's and SolGhosty's a lot, but Zan's color palette and face sells me on it.

Ghosty's is probably technically the "best", but it looks like someone stole his body so he's only a silhouette from the shoulders down.

Zanryu is my favorite of the six, followed, just barely, by Pura.

goin' with Ghost's, everyone else's look so similar (with various amounts of cleanliness). I can see that Pent's color was used underneath the cloak.

Well, if a tiebreaker is needed, Zanryu could change his vote because atm he's the only one who hasn't voted one of those 4 people with 2 votes.

Tie broke. For now. Went with Alusq. Very hard to pick. Like them all.

I went with Levy's. I like to see a splice that's more than the sum of its parts--one that creates a whole new character from the pieces with their own personality.

Runner-up for me was Alusq, who also made a very original piece. However, I see some dissonance in the depth created by the right side of Pent's bangs not being further away from the viewer like the right side of L'ara's face is. In contrast, it seems like Levy noticed that and played with the bangs a bit. That little difference is what decided my vote.

Special mention to Swift Assassin for excellent color vibrancy. Even though the base is mostly Leila, it doesn't remind me of her at all because of the switch to FE8 palette and the little changes that made a big difference.
