Name: Ray
Age: 17
Gender: Male, but most think he’s female.
Nation/Allegiance: Ilia
Appearance/Description: Ray is Kalin’s younger brother.
Ray is extremely effeminate, with beautiful, almost snow white skin and long, flowing green hair that retains its lushness and color despite never being groomed. Most guys would consider him better looking than Kalin, much to her chagrin. He also wears a headband to keep the hair out of his eyes, which further compounds his femininity. He doesn’t care much for social interaction, so whatever’s convenient to him works best.
He’s 5 feet 6 inches tall, standing slightly lower than his sister. He’s also fairly thin and has little muscle mass. He has just enough tone from carrying his books.
Ray figured it would be a lot warmer outside of Ilia, so he neglected to bring his heavy winter coat. He had fire magic, after all, and with the weight of the three books he was totting around there wasn’t too much room for extra baggage.
Besides that he has his great grandfather’s magical cloak, which, when covering the user, wards off most of any oncoming magic attack. It completely protects against negative staves. It does nothing against swords though, which with his mage-like body, is a huge problem.
Besides that, he has snow boots which are pretty much required to get out of the country. Even with fire magic melting it away, the snow is simply too thick. He has no pair of normal shoes, so it looks quite weird to outsiders seeing a mage with heavy snow boots on. Because he can simply use fire magic to keep his hands warm, he has no gloves.
He likes to keep a low profile but with his odd combination of looks people tend to stare.
He read somewhat about the magic ban, so he has his stuff in a backpack. He doesn’t realize how serious it is, though.
He’s very cynical and uncaring of other people. He would be completely uncaring if not for his sister. Ray won’t admit it, ever, but he loves her very much. She’s saved him from danger several times, most notably against muggers. With her cheery personality and optimism slightly rubbing off on him from the extreme dangers, he has at least some compassion for other people, like a regular tsundere.
Like most scholars and scientists, he’s also very curious and is always in pursuit of knowledge. He’s currently headed for Castle Pherae’s royal library, as he read that magic persecution isn’t as bad in Pherae. It also has the words “royal library” in the name, so it must be extensive. He has of course done other research about the library, which also influenced his decision.
Lastly, he has Fire, Thunder, and his special Meteor spell, which is explained below.
His personality will be expanded in role-playing.
Bio/Backstory: Ray was named after his great-grandfather and is likewise exceptional at the magic arts.
Ray has always loved to read, and with a ton of material provided by his ancestors, close and distant alike, there has been no shortage of things to read. Though he mostly reads nonfiction, he likes fantasy novels as well. Getting lost in a world other than your own and getting to be a great hero or king or other public figure always appealed to him. He won’t admit it, but his favorite genre is romance, a terrible trait to have when his sister both knows of it and loves to make fun of him for it. Maybe it’s for that reason combined with his feminine appearance and high-pitched voice that Kalin always loved to dress him up in women’s clothes. Surprised as one might be, Ray is not homosexual in the slightest. He doesn’t correct people that confuse him for a girl simply because it takes too much time.
Ray has the same affinity for anima magic as the rest of his lineage, with the notable exceptions of his mother and sister. He has an affinity for fire magic, which is greatly appreciated when one lives in an area that’s cold as fuck. He has a special meteor tome his grandfather passed down to him that, despite looking dinky and fragile, rarely breaks, making it very cost effective. He learned most of his tricks from said grandpa as well.
That’s not to say he can’t use dark magic, though. Like his namesake, he’s somewhat talented at that too. Opportunities to use it have been slim, however. The only other person he’s met that can use it was his uncle, who stops by occasionally on a family visit and lets Ray read his books. But because his uncle needed them all, Ray has no dark magic tomes of his own.
Eventually, he ran out of source material, and only a few days before Kalin set off, he “set off” as well. This greatly affected their parents, who were now both greatly saddened and worried by the now missing company of their two kids. Of Kalin’s rambunctiousness and of Ray’s… well actually he didn’t talk much, but it was still nice to see him. They also missed the bickering of the two (one of the few times Ray actually did talk).

I wish something interesting would happen around here. I don't care what it is.

[1:30:20 PM] Baseball Remi(Ryo): frigging slender.
[1:30:58 PM] Iron Galaxy: It's like, if you were going to murder someone over some stupid thing, could it have been over Dark Souls or something less lame
[1:31:25 PM | Edited 1:31:27 PM] Iron Galaxy: Say that you invaded someone -- namely, their house, and you brought your shitty replica katana
[1:31:51 PM] Iron Galaxy: And you were doing sweet-ass rolling horizontal sweeps with it
[1:32:33 PM] J for Hose A: of course its a dex build that tries to kill someone else
