Name: Tangle Rose
Age: 26
Gender: F
Nation/Allegiance: Etruria
Appearance/Description: Tangle's name immediately seems appropriate. Her most noteworthy feature is her nest of unruly golden curls, coming down to her shoulders in an unmanageable cascade. The blonde locks frame green eyes and a strong-featured face, locked almost perpetually into a look of somewhat manic determination. Tangle is on the tall side, but skinny as a boy. Her travel-worn clothes show evidence of expensive make and embroidery beneath the faded cloth and numerous patches.
Tangle would like to think of herself as a force of nature, wowing everyone she meets with sheer force of personality. This may be wishful thinking on her part, as there are many who find her extravagant manner and headstrong recklessness to be severely trying.
Following the collapse of any organised Etrurian resistance, Tangle appears to have dedicated herself to being a general nuisance to the Lycian occupation in any way she can. She and a group of like minded individuals maintain a quiet campaign of theft, sabotage and occasional murder against occupying forces. As a result, Tangle currently has a bounty on her head as a wanted mage and "brigand." It's a modest one, but growing.
Bio/Backstory: Even before Day Zero, the ancient Hawethorn House was doing poorly. Through war, famine, political ineptitude, inadvisable marriage and poor administration, the once proud noble house had been reduced to an impoverished family living amid the fading finery of their poorly maintained keep. Ella Hawethorn, head of the family, through some mixture of wishful thinking and outright delusion, pinned all her hopes for the family's triumphant resurgence on her young heir, Kendall Hawethorn.
Kendall's childhood, as a result, was not a happy one. Full of strict lessons, parental disappointment and unmatchable standards, by the age of 16 Kendall could barely stand to be in the same room as Ella without a shouting match that the whole household could only pretend not to overhear.
Eventually, under the pretense of "her heir's all important education", Ella managed to scrape together the gold to get Kendall a half decent apprenticeship with a skilled Sage in the capital. The studies were hard, but for a change, Kendall actually enjoyed them. The young noble worked hard for years, sending Ella back regular progress reports diligently, lest she consider pulling the plug on the education fund.
Ella received the letter informing her that Kendall had learned all the old Sage had to teach mere days before the Lycian invasion. Lying unfortunately close to the Lycian border, the Hawethorn family holdings were razed to the ground early on. The fate of the family members is uncertain, but none moreso than that of the wayward heir studying in Aquleia. What became of Kendall in the chaos that followed, it's hard to say. Killed by Lycian zealots, perhaps. Or fled to the relative safety of Bern, like so many Etrurian magic users.
Certainly no one would think to connect the unfortunate noble with the mysterious woman causing so many problems for the occupying forces.
