Name: Neil
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Nation/Allegiance: Etruria
Appearance/Description:
Neil is easily recognizable from his green hair and traditional Sacaean cloth. Although he once wore robes embroidered with Sacaean patterns as a head researcher, Neil reverted back to typical Sacaean garb to avoid arousing suspicion of his magical background. He keeps his hair cut short and wears a scarf around his neck.
Neil has a large knapsack slung over his shoulder, secretly carrying his tomes. Neil is not particularly tall, standing at 5 ft. 9 in. (175 cm) and weighs 140 lb. (63.5 kg). He carries a bow and quiver of arrows to add to his disguise and is accompanied by his horse Mina.
Bio/Backstory:
Neil originally hailed from Sacae, a member of the Kutolah tribe, but decided to settle down in Etruria instead of pursue his ancestors' lifestyle. He became a magic researcher, although focusing on a single affinity was nearly impossible for Neil's inquisitive nature; he studied all three main types of magic over the eleven years that he worked. His study of dark magic drew the reservations of his colleagues but Neil reassured them that he had no intention of undermining the Church.
The war against Lycia brought both the end of the Church as well as his magical studies. Neil grew concerned over rumors that Lycian soldiers were apprehending mages and destroying tomes and, using his position as head researcher of his institute, ordered an evacuation of staff and the safeguarding of their research data, locking the information away in a secret underground room.
Neil fled to the Sacae plains, using his heritage in order to gain favors from the Djute tribe, which resided in the western half of Sacae. Although he was able to receive help, Neil also knew that the Djute tribe would not help if Lycian soldiers attempting to enter the plains in search for Etrurian refugees.
Unofficially, Lycian soldiers did enter the Sacean plains on a hunt for "black magic users." Neil was forced to flee east, hoping to seek refuge in Bern by traveling through the Sacae Plains. However, he soon realized that Lycia set up border patrols along the Lycia-Sacae border. Because of the impassibility of much of the mountain range that divides Sacae from the other countries, Neil was forced to return to Lycian territory on his journey to Bern. In order to do so, he was forced to use one of his magic tomes, alerting Lycian authorities that there may be a Sacaean "black mage" in the northeastern part of Lycia.
Additional Information:
-Neil is afraid of others learning about him being a mage, keeping his knapsack of tomes close by at nearly all times.
-Neil's knapsack of tomes include Flux, Luna, and Fire.
