Kethen simply stood with the noble as the rest of the group split for the moment to retrieve their belongings. The mercenary hated the almost sluggish way they went about running for their lives. It almost seemed as if they wanted to get caught by the guards who were no doubt hot on their heels. To make matters worse the priestess was bringing her own trouble with her.
A priest had followed her straight to them and was now poised to give them all away. He let loose with a barrage of light based attacks that forced Kethen to act as a shield for their employer. He grunted as the searing light burned against his flesh and warmed the metal armor on his shoulders. The mounted knight seemed to be eager to join the fray but asked for permission forcing the big man to step in.
He swung his large axe in a long arc that was meant to bisect the priest in one go. The man stepped back and prepared to blast the axeman with another ray of light. He was stopped short as an elbow drilled into his gut and knocked him off his feet. Kethen smiled as he straightened to his full height. He craned his neck, causing it to pop and crack. The big man prepared to swing again when a concentrated ray of light slammed into his face causing him to be temporarily blinded. On instinct he threw up a hand to cover his eyes as he let loose a string of curses.
