It's kinda weird, they basically went full dating sim. You have to seduce the hot prince/princess of the other kingdom, and the battles are basically like the minigames in a regular dating sim. To make you hotter, and stuff.

just started and gonna take the conquest path, so we'll see how it goes. really irked by the removal of content though.
and while i may understand and don't usually mind localizations much, the "rawwr is i love you in dragon" gives me PTSD

Just got it delivered and am in the middle of opening it. The plastic on the game box is refusing to open for me. On another note, the preorder bonus keychains look nice.

Ugh...just got to Chapter 6. I think...I'm going Birthright first.
EDIT: I decided for some reason to load up the Before Awakening DLC...and is it bad that I had to make sure they remembered to model's Chroms feet?

Honestly, I'm not too bothered by the loss of the petting... I understand it's a cultural thing, but it seems a little bit creepy to me tbh.

Last night I played a bunch... There's a clear difficulty some from the previous games, which is most apparent in that enemies can hit you in the early chapters.

i'm seriously wondering about the RN because chapter 10 was an absolute misery in nohr hard classic, i even got 71/1 hit/critted on the tenth turn in one of the retries! do characters still earn their skills in the same way as before? 1/10 for prepromos and 5/15 for prepromos? maids seem like an odd class.

They do for the most part, but because they retain their current level they gain the skills by leveling up more; if you're over the level you just gain that skill first (whichever is 1st within the class to learn)

Yeah, I noticed the 1 rn thing. I'm good with it, because I get plenty of crazy hits too,and Kaze keeps critting at 4%.
