[Proposition] New Game Modes - Fredmir - 11-15-2015

Since not many people play up to promo, when you actually promote, often you set up the tag as : "B-ranks max plz"

So why not have a mode which limits weapon ranks to a maximum?

would also make some battle interesting even if all your units have max ranks (ok maybe not)


AND

We could have a mode to limit unbuyables, if you were really unlucky (or only played maps with no chests) and don't have any unbuyable with your units at lv20, it kind of sucks to play another member who did treasure rushes and has full longbows, killers, loltwins, etc.

So restriction of unbuyables (could be by ranks too, blocking B-ranks+ unbuyables, A-ranks+, etc...)


Just throwing this out there, have fun debating, I'm not in the secret Feto Dev Group, so can't be debating with them for new things.

I'm totally in favour of both of these new battle types. It would definitely make some things easier and more interesting.

Limiting weapon ranks has pros and cons too. Only B ranks being usable in 20/20 buffs tanks a lot for example.

I want a Kill ___ units mode though, so FFAs are more fun, althugh they might end quick. Tongue

Added this, had forgot about it, it would make things fun I think, we already made sone Dark Fort with that settings and it was interesting.

I suggested these in another thread cause didnt know bout this one.
Anyways...Marked mode.Basically its like lord defeat but instead of losing when lord is killed, you lose when a random character is killed. Unlike the lord defeat mode, character wont get any buffs but to offset that the enemy wont be able to see which enemy unit is 'marked' (but you can see which of your units is marked). I think it would be interesting, especially how you manage the marked unit, you dont want it dying but do you risk opponent finding out which unit it is...
Another is skills mode, which would make skill activate easier (like lower the requirement by 1 or something). Honestly i would think this has been already suggested (and maybe shot down?) but i reckon it would like a fun game mode (like sadistic or sudden death or something).
Trapped mode, all the units in the squares around the edge take damage, next turn units in squares 2 or 1 from edge take damage, next turn units 3 or closer to edge take damage, etc. Basically force units to get to center and fight, variant of sudden death
Another mode is like the assault mode, except certain tiles (in the center and accessible to both teams, also can be many) grants a stat boost to first unit to get there and survive 2 enemy turns (or something like that)
Finally boost mode (also idc bout the names, they sound stupid to me anyways), where units gain small stat boost after kill.
Sorry if any of these are stupid (also i still like MMMs multiple lords...just sayin...)

We may have actual development on FETO now, but it's not a full-time job for any of us. The ideas themselves aren't bad, but some of them seem pretty complicated (probably not impossible) to implement, and we have other priorities when we actually do stuff for a change, so as much as I regret saying it you probably shouldn't count on any new gamemodes too soon. (Sad since I would really like multilords)
