Trich D'Alvers - Empfindsam - 12-06-2014 Name: Trich D’Alvers Age: 23 Gender: Male Nation/Allegiance: Lycia/Etruria Appearance/Description: Trich is average in height and lithe in build. His complexion is fair and without blemish, though his features are not particularly striking. What he lacks in natural appeal he makes up for with a marked fastidiousness. Most demanding of attention are his piercing, golden eyes, which glow with a puckish humor at all times. He sports a well-groomed head of forest green hair, with locks falling just above his eyes. Trich always makes an effort to dress well, which is somewhat deceptive considering his roguish behavior. He is quite fond of fine, embroidered tunics and fancy, flowing capes, which he claims give him the appearance of a chivalrous nobleman and the allure of a midnight vagabond. While he is known to be pensive at times, Trich loves to be the center of attention. Above all else, he approaches life with a profound exhibition of mirth and at least a little mischief. His lack of respect for established hierarchies has gotten him into trouble on more than a few occasions. His laugh – more laugh a crow-like guffaw – easily and frequently cuts through the noise of a crowded room. Though he fancies himself somewhat of a beloved comedian, his inability to exhibit solemnity or reverence have a tendency of causing entirely avoidable offenses. In truth, his rambunctious demeanor often serves as a mask for his underlying insecurities. Bio/Backstory: Trich was born to one Rishard D’Alvers and his wife, Deliah, a pair of wildly successful merchants hailing from Araphen. They dealt mainly in fine silks and other delicate materials, and their clientele included much of the local nobility. As such, Trich’s upbringing was quite sophisticated, his education extensive, and his prospects extraordinary. A youth with a more motivated approach to life could have made quite the success out of it, but Trich was never one to bother himself with details like responsibility or planning for the future. Instead, he chose to focus his attentions on more recreational pursuits. At a young age, he took a keen interest in the sport of archery, and began honing his skills as a top tier marksman. He also spent a portion of his free time fiddling about with a variety of musical instruments and composing songs with which he would try to impress the daughters of his father’s rich clients. Beyond the acquisition of a few ribbons in archery, these endeavors never amounted to much in terms of future employment. And of course, Trich had no interest in taking up his father’s business. Like any other irresponsible young boy tumbling haphazardly into adulthood, at the age of eighteen Trich decided to leave home and experience the wandering life for a time. Taking only a fair sum of money and few belongings, including his bow, a mandolin, and as lavish a wardrobe as he could manage, he began traveling between the various cities and provinces of Lycia in search of adventure, notoriety, and possibly even romance. Despite existing like a vagrant, working odd jobs and even busking for gold once his initial purse had been depleted, he found the life rather fulfilling, never losing his optimistic outlook on things. Over time, he had traveled his way off of Lycian soil entirely, finding himself in Etruria. During his stay there, he met Janys Larue, a young mage-in-training, and somehow managed to capture her heart with his wry humor and charm. It was not long before she had convinced him to leave his wandering life behind and settle down with her in Etruria. Two years had passed and Janys was pregnant with their first child when the Lycian legions invaded Etruria. When it became apparent that Janys would be persecuted for her affinity for anima magic, the two of them attempted to flee for the border with a number of other refugees, but they were ambushed by a Lycian squadron and struck down or captured in droves. During the scuffle, Trich was knocked unconscious. Upon waking up, Janys was nowhere to be found. The Lycian troops kept him sequestered for a few days but ultimately let him go when they discovered his ties to the D’Alvers family of Araphen and that he had no magical ability whatsoever. No amount of questioning or searching since has led to any information of his wife’s whereabouts, and Trich has continued to look for her since their separation. |
