Name: Marsyyr (Known as Mars)
Age: 390
Homecountry: Nagaräth
Affinity: Fire
Gender: Male
Height: 9'6" Dragon, 5'11" Human
Weight: 1,812 lbs. Dragon, 175 lbs. Human

Personality: Mars is constantly cheery, if slightly reserved. He views most things with impassive indifference, but his mood is always high and he is constantly in good spirits. However, due to his eternal calmness and serene composure, many find him aloof, and distant, though quite friendly because he is always willing to answer questions with his views on live and he gives amazingly accurate advice. Above all, he is astoundingly perceptive, so much so that it is taken to a new level. Mars looks at everything with an optimistic view; he is wise and kind, never the first to speak, yet undeniably perfect at giving good advice, making the correct decision and thinking things through. He takes each day as it comes and hardly broods or lingers; fighting when necessary does not bother him, nor does killing, and though he can be agitated, he rarely gets angry and even more rarely fights due to anger, choosing to get involved only when necessity dictates as such. Mars never judges based on actions or appearance and is a hard enemy to make, disapproving only of those who are lazy, take advantage of wealth or power, abuse others or personally harm him.

He participates in a Buddhist-like religion centered around the Immaculate, who becomes a living Buddha of light among dragons. The values he believes in are quite similar, as is the way he looks at religion. He exists by the Eightfold Path; he looks at life with the perceptive optimism and impassive understanding of one who has known the world for a long time. Mars has, in fact, come across or been blessed with right view, right intention, right action, and right mindfulness, leading many he interacts with to view him as a philosopher wise beyond his apparent years, and in fact, a philosopher is the best way to describe him. He believes in each living creature's ability to influence their surroundings and the events that shape their perceptions, believing in divine coincidence but finding fate to be the creation of those too weak to stand up and act for the way they want their life to be.

He is never one to shy away from the social aspect of things, but he he is also never one to start a conversation. On almost all occasions, he lets others speak first, then responds as he always does in an astute, confident, calm manner. Mars is never indecisive, but is so passive that it is almost as if he does not have the energy to get excited about anything. His sentences are often short except when philosophizing, not for lack of words but just because he gets straight to the point in what he says in as few magnificent words as possible. Rarely will he speak more than four or five sentences at a time, instead preferring to hear the stories and opinions of others. It is easy for those who know him to see that he is compassionate, and something about him draws others, especially those with troubled souls and minds, to him. Mars is most focused when he receives one of his visions, and dedicates a great portion of his energy to meditating on their meaning and proximity to the current time, during which he usually appears sleeping.

Appearance: Mars, as a mamkute hidden in human form, stands at a moderate height, just barely below the widely accepted average, and bears little tone on his moderately well-built frame yet has a decent amount of size and strength for his body type. Many who saw him would believe that he is a scholar or an unarmed traveler. Fiery red-hued hair, short and more or less well-kept, sits atop his head while his face bears wide, calm, gentle hazel-green eyes that consistently hold a content, distant expression, as well as a small, thin-lipped mouth and a rounded chin free of any facial hair. Those eyes are his most striking feature—at once, they are pensive, perceptive, confident, understanding, joyous and reserved. He is usually garbed in a loose, formal, impressive shirt that reaches down to white sultan-like pants, slight baggy and wide at the ankles. The shirt is overlapped by a high-quality white satin cloth wrapping around his right shoulder, held together by an expensive golden clasp over his left trapezius muscle. Mars smiles often, because his lifetime has taught him to enjoy being able to smile, and because it has the immediate effect of projecting calm into people.

In his true form, Marsyyr is quite an impressive dragon, imposing, majestic and powerful. He stands slightly shorter than the average ceiling, although at only 400 years old he still has a bit of growing to do, with a wingspan nearing 17 feet, bright red scales of a crimson hue adorning his entire body from his snout to his wings and along his tail. Five sharp, curved claws resembling talons extend from both of his hands and both of his feet, mixing with the webbed design of his wings to paint the image of a dragon of lore. His eyes, while bigger, are just as clear and calm as when he is disguised as a human, set above a mouth teething with sharp white fangs, and in fact those eyes are what keep him from being intimidating to humans who see his true form. His underbelly is beige-hued and slightly lighter as opposed to his back, where the slight raised angle of his spine makes its curves stand out from his scaly skin and cause the area of his body to appear slightly darker.

Bio: If in the world there truly exists opposing forces of good and evil, constantly in motion, eternally tearing away at each other with all they have, then they are bound by the unconstrained river of time, flowing only in one direction, and they must be balanced by a neutral force that the world should come to rely on. In the world there exists those who call themselves dragons and those who call themselves humans, separate but equal races normally so distanced that coexistence is never a thought, much less a necessity. As with all things, however, they are moving within the current of time, and inevitably, a moment will come where these forces, good and evil, and these existences, dragons and humans, will meet. And so a legend exists amongst dragons of a single enlightened one, the manifestation of neutrality, to come and balance the world for as long as anyone could know...

Nearly 400 years ago, amidst the age-old and undisturbed sands swimming about the expansive desert of Nagaräth, a closed-off and fully functioning community established in the far southwest reaches of the land gave birth to a baby dragon, upon whom the name Marsyyr was bestowed. Both full-grown natives of the village, known to itself and the few enlightened outsiders as Aeohar, the parents had spent a great deal of their long and blessed lives as great scholars of the mamkute tribe under the harsh, unceasing sun of the desert. If a noble class existed within the moderately sized community of dragons, they belonged in it to some degree. The council of four that oversaw whatever matters the residents could not handle on their own, headed by a respected Elder, had ties to his father through an important blood line.

The first hundred years of life for Marsyyr saw nothing but the utopia of a peaceful and grateful society of proud dragons who wanted for nothing and concerned themselves to zero degree with the outside happenings of the human world. As all dragons, who outlive and outsmart humans, were, he was quickly educated, finding himself knowledgeable on some of the most remote historical and scholarly facts in existence. He lived content in the same manner for a century and a half, unaware of the enormous blessing he had been given upon birth.

Upon his 200th birthday, it was revealed to him that he and his father came from the blood line of the Immaculates, wise and powerful dragons of the light, spiritual leaders of the mamkutes and living Buddha-like entities that had existed within Aeohar since its foundation, a total of two of them. The Immaculate was the epitome of enlightened goodness, proficient in light magic in both human and dragon forms, pure in heart and a guardian to the settlement. The Elder always presided over the village, but the Immaculate was its true spiritual leader. An Immaculate, however, only grew into full fruition once every three generations, a span of at least 3000 years in dragon lifespans. Mars, his parents and the village had known, was the third after his great-grandfather, poised to develop into an Immaculate.

While the world was undergoing changes on the outside, the secluded peace of Aeohar and the desert was undisturbed, and Marsyyr spent 100 years completing the extensive education his intelligent dragon parents imparted to him, after which he became a groundskeeper at the temple of the Council, allowing him to spend extended periods of time on the premises, where a large library was held. While forming lasting relationships with the Council and learning from them, he began to draw every bit of knowledge possible from the ancient books in the library on the Immaculates: their significance, their power, their legend. It was truly fascinating stuff; he would often read in human form, spending all of his other time as a dragon like most of his kin. Such activities caused him to be quite more used to remaining in human form for periods of time than others.

It was around this time that the Elder, the Council, and eventually other people, began to notice that Mars himself was far different, different from even the previous two Immaculates of legend. He seemed to be growing into the position before their eyes, rather than taking it on later when he was ready. Already, he displayed the perceptive wisdom of one who was meant to lead the world of the age-old dragons, and his curiosity about the outside world had begun to grow.

At 340, the time was deemed right for Marsyyr to depart Aeohar and venture into the world, emerging from his secluded life of paradise into the rest of existence (much like the Buddha, from princely palace to poverty-stricken areas) to become enlightened, aiming to discover the origin, meaning and manipulation of the magic of the light, learn more about the outside world, and bring his heart to the right peace and calm understanding he would require to attain the title inherited by blood yet bestowed by work. He spent 10 years in Nagaräth alone, drifting from settlement to settlement, blending in with humans and learning their ways, visiting other mamkute establishments, until he felt he had learned enough to be safe in the rest of the human world. At age 350, he exited the desert and moved outwards, increasing his knowledge tenfold.

Mars found the most difficult part of adapting to life elsewhere learning the language. It took him five years after leaving the desert to fully master and understand the most common language used among the humans, not to mention regional dialects and other tongues in separate pockets of the continent. Luckily, for the first period of time after he departed the desert, he was able to pass his lack of understanding and communication off as being a simple foreigner, hiding his wings in public, until the process of speaking with others slowly dawned on him. Marsyyr began to find interactions with humans interesting—dragons were naturally raised to believe that they were better than humans, and so had he, yet, after meeting many of them, he began to take a different view, finding their existence interesting and meaningful. Such a realization was only one step towards the enlightenment he sought.

While in the midst of his travels, he found himself upon a mansion marked on no map, slightly run down, resting in the center of a forest. At the time, rain was beginning to fall, and Mars moved into its protection to avoid the weather. Inside, a chance encounter led to him meeting several travelers who had also made their temporary rest in the mansion. The rain cleared shortly, and Mars departed just in time, none the wiser as to the horrific events that occurred just after. Not long after, Marsyyr found himself in Olivan, where he made the acquaintance Lord Kalas Reinhart, the Earl of Enalian, who immediately became impressed with the complex traveler and brought him into his company as an advisor. The company was marching to war; while Mars was able to endure the first half of the battle without being drawn into the action, archers eventually gave him no choice. He burst into his true form, that of a dragon, and helped turn the tide of the battle. After it had been won, he vanished from the company and left no trace, his identity compromised. He later heard from Zedrick Zela, a standout young man whom he had found a specific interest in inside the mansion, of the happenings there. The two departed to northern Nagaräth as traveling partners, Zed feeling comfortable and content in Mars' presence and Mars finding him yet another good study of human life and behavior. They quickly became friends, and thus Zed was the first human with whom Mars had ever truly formed a bond, and it would not be forgotten.

Zed left Mars for a slight while in northern Nagaräth, attending to something yet certain the two would see each other again soon. Mars stopped to rest in that empty expanse; while he sat calmly, meditating, a vision came upon him that showed blurry, fast images relating to people he was soon to meet and the thing he would have to accomplish to find right livelihood, the next step on the Eightfold Path. He left that emptiness and headed for the nearest town in northern Nagaräth; while taking one more rest before he reached it, he met Valistrix. He and the Shaman then hit that town, and after a slightly extended stay, departed, an odd bond forming as they headed for Alacia. They had a falling-out along the way, largely provoked by Valistrix, and went separate ways before completing the journey, never to see each other again.

While resting along a sparsely-traveled path in an unknown country, beneath a line of ash trees, another vision came to him, of horrible experimentation and people subject to them. As he debated the meaning of the vision, another mamkute approached him with the obvious goal of apprehending him. Mars allowed himself to be knocked out and taken into custody as a measure of exploring the vision and found himself locked up with another mamkute, Eldin Castille, and a human woman with whom he was traveling, and imparted his wisdom to them as they awaited what was to come next.

Mars will continue on absorbing knowledge, meeting and noting people every which way, day by day becoming more enthralled with the blessed assignment bestowed upon him. Wandering contently from country to country, he slowly moves one step closer towards the legend of his fathers.

Class: Mamkute
Level: 15

Weapons: Dragonstone, Partial Transformation (RPer of Month prize)
Weapon Levels: N/A

Additional Notes/Comments:
• His third tier will be Immaculate.
• The Immaculate is like the Buddha. Self-explanatory.
• He can conceal his wings as a human in public by drawing them into his back.
• At times, he receives visions, only while meditating.
• Mars is amazingly perceptive and widely understanding, as well as experienced from several centuries in the ways of life and people; this means that he will often be able to perceive what others are thinking. This is not to be confused with god-modding.
