Name: Quinn Morix
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Nation/Allegiance: Lycia (Araphen)/Etruria
Appearance/Description:

Quinn's all about function, and that is reflected in his appearance. He wears a headband to keep his wavy blond hair out of his eyes. It got in the way once. Never again. He has intense blue eyes that carry a certain amount of anger, even if Quinn isn't feeling particularly misanthropic at the moment. Smiling isn't really his thing unless he's wise cracking, and even then he's usually just dead-panning with a straight face.

He wears a long black coat with green trim and a high collar. A thin leather strap holds the scabbard for his sword, which he keeps handy at almost all times. A pair of tight cotton breeches allows for unobstructed movement, and instead of greaves or heavy leather boots, he wears simple leather shoes. Easier for sneaking around.

He's just short of 6 feet, but he will sometimes round up to impress people.

Bio/Backstory:

Quinn Morix wasn't anything special. He never really had any reason to play the "my parents died when I was little" card, because his adopted parents were just as kind as his biological parents when they took him in. His parents were a childless, well-to-do couple living in Araphen, and they showered Quinn with lots of love and attention. They only wanted the best for their son.

Part of what they wanted for Quinn was a good education, and that was why they decided to send him to a study exchange program in Etruria. He'd spend a few months studying in Araphen and then go to an academy in the Etrurian countryside for a few months. It was there he discovered he had no talent whatsoever for magic, but fortunately they taught other subjects which he had much more of a gift for, including history, rhetoric, and fencing.

It was at this study exchange program that he met the two most influential individuals in his life: a young Etrurian man named Orthir and a young Bernese woman named Amora. The trio bonded over their mutual hatred of certain professors, subjects, and occasionally classmates, and became fast friends over the time they spent at the Etrurian academy. Orthir and Quinn shared a dormitory together at the academy, and were especially close.

Orthir, Amora, and Quinn all graduated with flying, and returning to his home seemed like such a drag for Quin compared to the misadventures he and his friends experienced in Etruria.

Two years later, in the dead of night, Amora showed up at Quinn's house in the dead of night, badly hurt. Quinn took her in and began to help take care of her wounds, asking her what happened.

"Orthir is dead," Amora told him. "Killed by the Lycian army during the occupation of Etruria."

Quinn couldn't believe what he was hearing. One of the largest garrisons of the Lycian army was in his home of Araphen. He'd played together with some of the soldiers as children and couldn't imagine any of them doing this.

Amora explained the happenings of the last several months and indicated that she had joined one of the resistance groups. She didn't ask for his help, as she knew what position that would put him in, but Quinn volunteered anyway. They murdered his best friend.

Amora said the thing that the resistance needed most was information, and as a Lycian Quinn was in a fantastic position to help with that.

And so, Quinn became a spy. He started small, passing information on the numbers of military personnel stationed in Araphen. Then he got bolder, eavesdropping on conversations in secret. Amora remained in Araphen while her wounds healed, and passed along Quinn's info to her contacts.

Everything came crashing down again when Quinn was walking in the square. There was a crowd gathered, but Quinn couldn't tell what the fuss was about. He finally pushed his way through and to his horror discovered Amora's body, lifeless at the center of the crowd. An dagger pierced her heart, and a piece of paper had been pinned by the dagger to her chest that just read "traitor."

Realizing that his identity as a spy may have been compromised as well, he fled Araphen. Leaving a hasty note for his adopted parents, he packed a sack of his belongings and set out, searching for the resistance movement that Amora was a member of.

He was prepared to offer his services. He was prepared to die.
